Cross-country day.

On wednesday, Hwa Chong had its annual cross country day. I was very excited as i had never participated in an event like this before.

All the sec 1s were called to the starting line and the signal to start running went off. The race seemed extremely short to me. One moment i was running pass the starting line, the next i was already at the finishing line, collecting my my medal to prove that i was among the top 100 runners.

The cross country race thought me to persevere and to be determined.

I am from 1I3 and my name is Lu Zhi Hao, I agree with Aristotle’s view that “All human actions have one or more of these seven causes: chance, nature, compulsions, habit, reason, passion, desire.” I will be using two elements of the Paul’s Wheel of Reasoning to make my argument. They are inference and evidence.

To begin, I am using inference to agree with Aristotle’s view that “All human actions have one or more of these seven causes: chance, nature, compulsions, habit, reason, passion, desire.” I will use elimination to prove that Aristotle is right. Firstly, when humans do something, it is either because we want to do it, or it is by chance. So we can prove that one of the seven causes is chance. Next, if we happen to touch something hot, we would instantly retract our hand, that is because of human nature. Most criminals commit crimes on impulse, they did not think before they committed the crime. The fourth point is habit. After doing a certain action for a long period of time, we would form a habit, even after that action is no longer needed, we would still do it for a period of time. The next point is the most common of all. Most actions of humans have a reason. They do certain things because they have a reason to. Some people are very passionate about what they do, they will do things out of passion. Finally, when we desire something, we will try to get it, which is when we do things out of desire.

To continue, I would like to agree with Aristotle’s view that “All human actions have one or more of these seven causes: chance, nature, compulsions, habit, reason, passion, desire.” If you observe any human action, you will be able to find at least one of these seven causes. Crimes, generous acts any action that humans do will have one of these seven causes.

types of intelligences

There are 7 types of intelligences according to the Howard Gardner's Theory of Intelligences. They are Bodily Intelligence, Interpersonal Intelligence, Verbal Intelligence, Logical intelligence, Intrapersonal Intelligence, Visual Intelligence and Musical Intelligence.

Bodily Intelligence is to do with movement. People with this type of intelligence learn better if they move around while learning.

Interpersonal Intelligence is to do with communicating with other people and being able to sense other people's moods and feelings. People with this intelligence tend to work well with other people. They often will enjoy debates and discussion.

Verbal Intelligence is to do with words both spoken and written. People with this type of intelligence typically speak, read or write better. people with this type of intelligence learn better by reading or taking notes.

Logical Intelligence is to do with puzzles, reasoning and numbers. People with this type of intelligence are able to recognise patterns perform complex calculations more quickly than others.

Intrapersonal Intelligence is to do with reflecting capabilities. They are able to understand their own emotions and feelings.

Visual Intelligence is to do with visual and spatial judgement. They are very good at visualing an object. they are often artiscally inclined. They also have very good hand-eye coordination.

Musical Intelligence is to do with rhythm and music. They are sensitive to rhythm, sound and tones. They normally have good pitch.
